Vivo is preparing to bring the Y600 Pro to market on 27 April, and the device is already drawing attention for one clear reason: its 10,200mAh battery. That capacity places the phone in unusual territory for a mainstream midrange model, where battery sizes are typically far smaller.
The company is positioning the Y600 Pro around endurance rather than raw novelty alone. Vivo says the phone is built with a focus on long-lasting power, stable output, energy efficiency, extended battery health, and fast charging support.
A battery-first midrange strategy
The 10,200mAh unit is described by Vivo as the largest battery it has ever used in a phone. That detail alone makes the Y600 Pro stand out in a segment where battery life has become a key selling point, but not often at this scale.
To support that large cell, Vivo is using second-generation semi-solid battery technology. The company says this helps keep performance stable even at temperatures as high as 60 degrees Celsius, which adds another layer to the phone’s durability claims.
Five priorities behind the design
Vivo has outlined five development targets for the Y600 Pro. Those priorities include long endurance, consistent power delivery, efficient energy management, long battery lifespan, and fast charging support.
AI-based chip-level optimization and an energy-efficiency certification are also part of the package. Vivo says these measures are intended to keep power consumption under control across everyday use cases.
Fast charging to balance the huge battery
A battery this large would normally raise concerns about charging time, but Vivo addresses that with 90W fast charging. The company claims the phone can reach a full charge in under 80 minutes.
That combination is notable because large batteries usually mean longer top-up times. By pairing the 10,200mAh capacity with 90W charging, Vivo is aiming to make the Y600 Pro practical for heavy users rather than simply impressive on paper.
Vivo also claims the phone can last more than 24 hours in light usage and more than 12 hours under heavy workloads. In addition, the battery is said to be engineered to maintain health for up to six years of use.
What else is known about the device
Beyond battery life, Vivo says the Y600 Pro will include a premium design, IP68 and IP69 ratings, upgraded connectivity, OriginOS 6, and a 1.5K eye-care display. The water and dust resistance ratings suggest that durability is a major part of the phone’s identity.
The display focus also matters here. A 1.5K screen indicates that Vivo is not limiting the device to battery endurance alone, but is also aiming to support a more refined viewing experience. OriginOS 6 is expected to handle the software side of daily use.
Reported specifications from a China Telecom listing
Separate from Vivo’s official announcements, the Y600 Pro also appeared in a China Telecom listing. That listing suggests the phone may use a 6.83-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels, which fits the 1.5K category Vivo has mentioned.
The same listing points to a Dimensity 7300e chipset, Android 16 with OriginOS 6, a 50-megapixel rear camera, and a 32-megapixel front camera. It also indicates configuration options of up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.
Other listed details include an in-display fingerprint sensor, an 8.15 mm thickness, and a weight of 221 grams. Color options are said to include Floating Gold, Bright Moon Black, Vast Blue, and Starry Purple.
After the 27 April launch, sales in China are expected to begin on 30 April, putting the Y600 Pro in a strong position as a midrange phone built around endurance, fast charging, and a durability-focused feature set.
