Motorola has introduced the Edge 70 Max in India with a 7,100mAh battery, making endurance the phone’s defining feature. The capacity is substantially higher than the 4,800mAh unit in the regular Edge 70 and the 6,500mAh battery in the Edge 70 Pro.
Motorola says the device can last up to 58 hours on a single charge. It supports 90W wired fast charging and 25W wireless charging, giving users two ways to replenish its large battery.
A premium platform behind the battery
The Edge 70 Max is not positioned as an endurance-focused phone alone. It uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage.
That hardware places the model in Motorola’s premium range. The combination is designed for users seeking high performance alongside a long-lasting battery and a fast display.
| Specification | Motorola Edge 70 Max |
|---|---|
| Display | 6.8-inch AMOLED, Quad HD Plus, 144Hz |
| Chipset | Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 |
| Memory | Up to 12GB LPDDR5X |
| Storage | 256GB UFS 4.1 |
| Battery | 7,100mAh |
The 144Hz display reaches 7,000 nits
The phone features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD Plus resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness is listed at up to 7,000 nits, while HDR10 Plus support is included for compatible content.
An under-display fingerprint sensor is built into the panel. The display therefore combines a high refresh rate with biometric access integrated into the screen.
Built for demanding environments
Motorola has given the Edge 70 Max an IP69 rating for resistance to dust and water. The phone also carries MIL-STD-810H certification, supported by an aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass 7i on both the front and rear.
These protections add a durability angle to a device otherwise defined by its premium display and internal hardware. The result is a model aimed at users who place importance on both physical resilience and long battery life.
Cameras, software, and connectivity
The rear camera system includes a 50-megapixel main camera using a Sony LYTIA 710 sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. A 2-in-1 light sensor is also included, while a 32-megapixel front camera sits inside a centered punch-hole cutout.
The device runs Android 16 and is promised three Android operating system upgrades. Motorola also promises five years of security updates for the phone.
Other features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, GPS, dual-SIM 5G, and a USB Type-C port. The specifications cover the main connectivity standards expected from a premium smartphone.
India pricing and availability
The Motorola Edge 70 Max will be sold in Pantone Dark Shadow, Pantone Ice Melt, and Pantone Aqua Gray. Sales in India begin on July 20, 2026, with two memory configurations.
| Configuration | Price in India |
|---|---|
| 8/256GB | 54,999 rupees |
| 12/256GB | 59,999 rupees |
Motorola has not announced whether the Edge 70 Max will be released in Indonesia. For now, its Indian launch centers on a 7,100mAh battery, a 144Hz display, and reinforced protection.
